There are two options when it comes to CCTV security; Web camera and IP Camera systems. The web-camera based security system is very easy, user friendly and its software has many features.

It will be easier to use an IP camera instead of a web camera. However, the cost of IP camera is more upfront. This type of system is useful when the owner is out of station and the home is locked.

By installing a camera at your infant’s room, you will have constant observation on your baby’s whereabouts and can be alerted as soon as your child needs you. Furthermore, by fitting a camera at the door site, an intruder can be detected and owner can receive a mail informing of an entry to the home.

If the nearby police station email address is also configured in the system, then the intrusion alert can be received by police also and necessary action can be taken.

The fire detection is a strong interest for the home surveillance services in a smart home. The conventional fire detection system using smoke and temperature sensors has many shortcomings such as high false rates and there is a strong demand to design a new approach for the fires detection with lower false rates.

Visual information, such as activity monitoring and object tracking, intrusion detection system and video surveillance systems aims to recognize fire occurrence events in any situations.

Furthermore, it is important to give notice to the owners of the household about the actual conditions of the fire outbreak shortly. There is a great potential to reduce the devastation caused by the fire, and use the information through image processing and information technology in fire detection.

After detection, notification service based on IP or web camera will be activated to send detection videos so that users can monitor the fire status in time remotely and to consequently inform the fire department.
